Fiber & Long-Range

Fiber media converters, SFP modules, patch cords and rack chassis — push camera links to 20km over single-mode fiber.

When copper cannot reach, fiber does. A media converter turns a Cat6 camera link into a single-mode fiber run up to 20km with no signal loss — ideal for parking lots, campuses, highways and between buildings. Add SFP modules, patch cords and a rack chassis to build a clean long-haul backbone that drops back to PoE at the camera end.

Fiber & Long-Range — FAQ

How far can a surveillance fiber link reach?

With single-mode fiber and a 20km SFP module, a media converter extends a camera link to 20km. Use our fiber patch cords and rack chassis to terminate multiple links at the NVR head-end.

Do I need to buy the SFP module separately?

The media converter has an SFP slot but ships without a module. Add our SF-SFP-1G-20 single-mode module for a 20km link, or any standard 1.25G SFP for shorter runs.

Is a fiber media converter compatible with my cameras?

Yes. It is transparent Layer-2 — plug the RJ45 side into your switch/NVR or camera and the fiber side into the remote converter. No brand lock-in.
